The reliability and validity of Turkish Brief Measure of Worry Severity based on Turkish university students

摘要: Objective The aim of this study was to examine reliability and validity the Turkish Brief Measure Worry Severity (BMWS) for assessing level dysfunctional worry. Method sample consisted two different student groups from various faculties Hacettepe University (age range: 17-25 years). First, data were collected group, composed 210 female 170 male students evaluate scale's test re-test correlation, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, criterion convergent validity. Next, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) Anxiety (BAI) administered other 805 assess distinctive BMWS. Students that scored over a quarter on median BDI regarded as having severe depression symptoms > 26% BAI anxiety symptoms. In manner (12 male, 38 female) (4 10 formed. Results Following series analyses, test-retest correlation (r = 0.76) internal consistency (Cronbach's 0.88) BMWS determined be statistically high. While showed unifactorial construct, scores scale differentiated between group (depression group: X 8.14, SS 4.03; 11.56, 5.11). Furthermore, BMWS's correlations with Name Penn State Questionnaire 0.75) Trait (State Inventory: r= 0.42; r 0.72) significant supported construct Conclusion results show is reliable valid use university students.
