Can Vocational Education Improve the Wages of Minorities and Disadvantaged Groups? The Case of Israel

摘要: There is a considerable empirical literature which compares wage levels of workers who have studied at secondary vocational schools with wages took academic schooling. In general, education does not lead to higher wages. However, in some countries where labor markets are characterized by employment growth, skill shortages and good match between skills available jobs, the record schooling has been more positive. Israel constitutes case point. little attention given examining success raising various sub-sections force, particular minorities disadvantaged groups. this paper, we examine efficacy four such groups: recent immigrants, Jews Eastern origin, Israeli Arabs females. The results mixed, differing from group group, thus justifying our approach impact on finer breakdowns population school completers.
