摘要: Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) allows reliable identification, quantification, and characterization of coronary atherosclerotic plaque has been validated as a precise atherosclerosis imaging modality. The knowledge accumulated with IVUS already major influence on treatment prevention artery disease (CAD) its risk factors. As tool in clinical trials examining progression, it is an integral part antiatherosclerotic drug development. primary endpoint these progression/regression burden changes characteristics long segments the tree, rather than focal assessment individual “vulnerable plaques.” While definitive confirmation combined incomplete, results strongly suggest that global can predict future events or “patient vulnerability.”
