“Kids like me, we go lightly on the head”: Experiences of children with a visual impairment on the physical self-concept

摘要: There has been limited research published investigating the experiences of children with a visual impairment in physical activity and sports. The aim study was to explore on their self-concept (PSC). A hermeneutic phenomenological approach employed investigate impairment. Qualitative interviews were conducted six between 10 12 years, followed by thematic content analysis. Within framework PSC, four themes emerged: (1) adaptations, (2) friends, (3) bullying, (4) eyes glasses. Findings suggest that despite occurrence bullying or lack adaptations sports are satisfied self global self-esteem.
