摘要: AIMS To investigate the associations between signs of painful temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and number tender points (TPs) fibromyalgia in adolescents, as well relationship TPs pressure-pain threshold (PPT) individuals presenting with local, regional, or widespread pain a way to presence central sensitization (CS). METHODS The sample consisted 690 Brazilian adolescents without TMD, aged 12 14 years old. Painful TMD was classified according Research Diagnostic Criteria for (RDC/TMD) Axis I. criteria established by Yunus were applied assess juvenile TPs. Mann-Whitney chi-square tests test demographic variables. Regression models used estimate association determine which additional predictive variables associated analyses performed PPT values Fisher FM. RESULTS Significant (P < .001), found. No found = .158). CONCLUSION Individuals presented more compared pain-free adolescents. Moreover, higher TPs, lower PPT. This finding suggests that are at increased risk CS.
