摘要: Stereotaxy involves the use of computerized technology to identify a point in three dimensions using Cartesian coordinate system, which can be used for preoperative surgical planning and intraoperative computer-assisted navigation. Stereotactic allows visualization anatomy instrument placement intraoperatively real-time on preoperatively acquired images, typically computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or CT-MRI fusion studies. Image-guided surgery has modernized variety interventions, including radiosurgery, biopsy, implantation, resection, stimulation, reconstruction. Although neurosurgery is field that most frequently utilizes stereotaxy, skull base surgery, otolaryngology, oral maxillofacial (OMFS), orthopedic other medical specialties have also appropriated image-guided into their armamentarium, with notable improvements patient outcomes. Importantly, stereotactic navigation been extended orbital by neurosurgeons, surgeons, OMF surgeons – natural extension this useful tool.
