摘要: OBJECTIVES Effects of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)on visceral fat storage and the autonomic nervous system were evaluated by abdominal computed tomography (measurement area) power spectral analysis heart rate variability, respectively. METHODS The parameters area variability compared between control group (n=74; conventional therapy) EPA (n=91; therapy plus 1800 mg/day) during a 6-month period. [low frequency component (LF), high (HF)and LF/HF] was performed on 256 sec taken after 30-minute rest. RESULTS Systolic diastolic blood pressures significantly decreased (p < 0.0001 p = 0.0076, respectively)but remained unchanged in 6 months. In group, these showed no change. values did not alter either but body weight 0.0003). A sex difference noted parameter area; female patients, change insignificant, male patients this tended to decrease from 162 +/- 60 152 65 cm2 0.0586) Serum triglyceride 0.0339) group. ratio LF/HF 0.0004) especially prominent patients. This correlates well with area, systolic pressure. CONCLUSIONS oral intake purified reduced pressure without altering treatment. suppressed sympathetic nerve activity inducing any parasympathetic activity. direct anti-sympathetic action inferred its found unrelated decrease. diminished may be associated depression
