A General Investigation on the Differential Leakage Factor for Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Multiphase Winding Design

摘要: This work provides an investigation based on a fast estimation of the degree unbalance (D.U.%) and differential leakage factor (σ0) multiphase electrical machine windings. analysis is carried out by exploring almost 5000 combinations in terms number slots, pole pairs, phases layers. The variability examined for each condition, defining optimal region its minimization. As result, extended mapping both factor, providing useful tool during early design stage winding configurations electric machines, even with slight asymmetries. results obtained from this are validated through finite element demonstrate that can be significantly reduced adopting asymmetries, which also represent valuable alternative design.
