摘要: Summary A major function of the placenta is production placental lactogens (Pls). Progesterone essential for pregnancy in all mammals and secreted by ovary placenta, depending on animal species. In rat, main source progesterone throughout ovary, 20α-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (20α-HSD) a key enzyme controlling ovarian secretion. The primary action prolactin (PRL) maintenance secretion suppression activity 20α-HSD. this review, sequence homologies between cDNAs PLs PRL intimate functional relationship are discussed order to speculate how why molecular diversity rat has developed.
