摘要: Archaeological excavations at the Biblioteca Magliabechiana, which is part of Uffizi gallery complex in Florence (Tuscany, central Italy), exposed Dark Earth deposits between alluvial sediments nearby Arno River. The term refers to thick, dark colored, and seemingly homogeneous occurring urban settings throughout Europe, broadly dated post-Roman period. stratigraphic sequence Magliabechiana was investigated by integrating geomorphological, chronological, archaeological information with micromorphological soil analytical data. This combination approaches resulted identification an early phase formation (7th century A.D.) during area characterized accumulation manure or night wet peri-fluvial conditions. After a abandonment, accretion resumed (10th 11th A.D.), this stage due primarily dumping domestic waste. Subsequent progressive abandonment followed deposition alluvium, probably major flood November 4, 1177. present study demonstrates that outcome strong bioturbation human reworking acting on anthropogenic possibly sediments.
