摘要: Proteins are dynamic entities that undergo a plethora of conformational changes may take place on wide range time scales. These can be as small the rotation one or few side-chain dihedral angles involve concerted motions in larger portions three-dimensional structure; both kinds important for biological function and allostery. It is becoming increasingly evident "connector regions" components personality protein structures. regions either disordered loops, i.e., poorly structured connecting secondary structural elements, linkers connect entire domains. Experimental computational studies have, however, revealed these not mere connectors, their role allostery has been emerging last decades. Here we provide detailed overview properties classification loops linkers, well discussion main methods employed to investigate dynamical properties. We also describe importance dynamics using examples key proteins cellular biology human diseases such kinases, ubiquitinating enzymes, transcription factors.
