摘要: The purpose of this study was to assess the importance stereolithographic models (SLMs) for preoperative diagnosis and planning in craniofacial surgery examine whether these offer valuable additional information as compared normal CT scans 3D images. Craniofacial SLMs 20 patients with craniomaxillofacial pathology were made. A helical volume scan anatomic area involved delivered necessary data their construction. These built an SLA 250 stereolithography apparatus (3D-Systems, Valencia, CA, USA), steered by FORM-IT/DCS software (University Zurich, Switzerland). classified according pathology, type relevance surgical planning. Though not objectively measurable, it beyond doubt that relevant surgeon obtained cases hypertelorism, severe asymmetries neuro- viscerocranium, complex cranial synostoses large skull defects. value realistic "duplicates" or rare dysmorphic creating a didactic collection should also be emphasized. proved less useful consolidated fractures periorbital naso-ethmoidal complex, except where there major dislocation.
