摘要: The pathological changes in the nucleus basalis of Meynert (nbM) 10 autopsied cases with Pick's disease were studied comparison 15 agematched controls. Both number and density nerve cells degree fibrillary gliosis examined at anterior, intermediate, posterior divisions nbM. In only 2 Pick was neurons significantly reduced, moderate anterior division (case 5: reduced by 64%, case 8: 46%). This neuronal loss nbM may not be a retrograde degeneration secondary to cortical lesions, since there some without despite presence much more severe lesions than these two cases. all except 1, mild found an apparent change due degeneration, parallel relationship between severity temporal tip superior gyrus, which cholinergic fibers are known project from present study suggests that most secondary, but also primary
