摘要: In the present study, pathological alterations in neurons of dorsal root ganglia (DRG) were investigated a rat model chronic sciatic nerve compression. The compression was established by placing 1 cm Silastic tube around right nerve. Histological examination performed via Masson's trichrome staining. DRG injury assessed using Fluoro Ruby (FR) or Gold (FG). expression levels target genes examined reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction, western blot and immunohistochemical analyses. At 3 weeks post‑compression, collagen fiber accumulation observed ipsilateral area and, at 8 weeks, excessive formation with muscle atrophy observed. volume fraction gradually significantly increased following rats, numbers FR‑labeled higher, relative to sham‑operated group, however, FG‑labeled similar. transforming growth factor‑β1 (TGF‑β1) connective tissue factor (CTGF) elevated surrounding neurons, type I increased, compared those contralateral DRG. DRG, associated higher phosphorylated (p)‑extracellular signal‑regulated kinase 1/2, lower p‑c‑Jun N‑terminal p‑p38, DRGs. Chronic likely induced pathology upregulating TGF‑β1, CTGF I, involvement mitogen‑activated protein signaling pathway.
