摘要: We describe a technique for producing high‐flux beam of atomic hydrogen with velocity distribution corresponding to liquid‐helium temperatures. have studied how gas atoms (H) may be cooled low temperatures through interaction cold walls. The was analyzed by forming an beam. obtained fluxes φH≃2.4×1016 atoms/s at T≃8 K, which corresponds increase in flux low‐velocity factor 20 over that the same source operated room temperature. degree dissociation and translational temperature were determined using quadrupole mass spectrometer time‐of‐flight techniques. A modulation advantageous such system is discussed analyzed. General design considerations transport cooling H are presented illustrated examples. methods data analyses detail.
