Brazilian dental students’ knowledge and attitudes towards HIV infection

摘要: The purpose of this study was to investigate a group Brazilian dental students' knowledge about HIV infection, the infection control measures utilized by students, and attitudes towards treating HIV/AIDS patients. population consisted 250 students from Universidade Federal da Bahia, Brazil, who were patients in clinics university extra-mural rotations at time study. survey instrument self-administered questionnaire which 32 pre-coded questions two open-ended questions. overall response rate 54%. More than 80% respondents (N = 135) considered every patient potential carrier. A majority aware association between Kaposi's sarcoma (92.5%), oral candidiasis (90.3%) hairy leukoplakia (52.7%). gender difference observed manifestations measures, with females having better males (p < 0.05). Because certain inadequacies practices among respondents, curriculum focusing on management HIV/AIDS, including legal issues is recommended.
