摘要: The inventory system considered in this work is single echelon, N-location and continuous review which complete pooling of stock permitted among the locations. A model developed for slow moving, expensive items that are common to two or more focuses on parts have a lumpy demand pattern; is, number units demanded at each occasion random variable. motivating case research has been real-life situation presented by large utility company having 29 power generating plants five southeastern states. Data analysis from reveals there substantial low usage, expensive, pattern. At present, location operates independently maintains enough meet its own requirements. Transshipments take place between locations whenever an emergency requirement part, but no explicit consideration given effect while deciding control policies different model, using analytical simulation techniques, situation. Limited experimentation, performed set problems, shows average savings about 31% as result pooling.
