摘要: ABSTRACTIntroduction: Oral nucleoside/ nucleotide analogues (NAs) are currently the mainstay of treatment for patients with chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. They generally safe to use. However, since their approval in last decade and a half, literature has reported adverse effects associated use NA HBV patients. A comprehensive review on drug safety is lacking.Areas covered: Significant including muscle toxicity, peripheral neuropathy, nephrotoxicity lactic acidosis discussed. The prevalence each effect, as well predictive factors, reversibility pregnancy lactating mothers covered this review. Novel data regarding reno-protective effect telbivudine also discussed.Expert opinion: Use safe.
