摘要: The crystalline ultrastructure and orientation of cellulose microfibrils in the cell wall Valonia macrophysa were investigated by means high-resolution electron microscopy ultrathin (approx. 28 nm) sections. With careful selection imaging conditions, ultrastructural aspects that had remained unresolved previous studies worked out direct crystal lattice microfibrils. It was confirmed each microfibril is a single having lateral dimension 20·20 nm2, because images 0.39 nm resolution clearly recorded with no major disruption whole area cross section microfibril. There evidence for existence 3.5-nm elementary fibrils which have been considered to be basic crystallographic morphological units general. also axial directions (crystallographic fiber direction) adjacent lamella are opposite other.
