摘要: Abstract An overview is given on the current state of X-ray absorption measurements silicate melts and glasses. The challenges, limitations, achievements analyzing spectra measured in liquids to determine structural properties major minor elements magmas are described, with particular focus describing non-Gaussian pair distribution functions highly disordered glasses melts, at in situ conditions. This includes a discussion progress combining experiments data from molecular dynamics simulations. For conditions deep Earth, various experimental approaches necessities discussed two examples described more detail. Finally, prospects presented for measuring indirectly by Raman scattering.
