摘要: For systems based on connection-oriented services, such as IEEE 802.16, call admission control (CAC) strategy is essential to provide a desired level of quality service (QoS). Although many handoff-prioritized CAC schemes, which assume fixed channel capacity, have been introduced, this assumption not always valid for 802.16 that uses adaptive modulation and coding (AMC). With AMC, the type user’s connection can be changed dynamically ongoing might fail due change modulation. In paper, we approach AMC-induced problem by focusing guaranteed connection. Three kinds calls, new, handoff, modulation-changed are considered. We propose modified guard scheme allows handoff calls use channel. Then analyze Markov model with long-term AMC in mind. According simulation results, proposed reduces dropping probability suggests threshold channels determined approach.
