摘要: Control and power regarding sexuality fertility challenges many women, especially those involved in abusive relationships. This preliminary study was done to explore the relationship between domestic violence, sexual coercion, pregnancy. The sample comprised of community-dwelling women attending support groups for survivors abuse, group therapy sessions while housed at a battered woman's shelter. Both questionnaires focus addressed women's experiences with contraception, sexuality, pregnancy, violence. Only qualitative phase study, plus demographics from questionnaires, are presented this article. responses suggest that felt they could not avoid intercourse their abusers, despite fears Focus transcript analysis revealed recurrent themes problems tactics inability access birth control, denial mistrust. article explores reality these face thought processes employ survive remain relationship. Health care providers can use information better understand clients, assist them obtaining using effective clients as make decisions.
