The crack initiation mechanism of the forged Mg-Zn-Y-Zr alloy in the super-long fatigue life regime

摘要: In the super-long fatigue life regime (10(6)-10(9) Cycles), behavior of forged Mg-Zn-Y-Zr Mg alloy with T5 temper was studied. The results showed that a pronounced limit exists in investigated alloy, value about 85 +/- 5 MPa. Fracture observation crack basically, initiated at surface or subsurface.
