摘要: This chapter reviews the immunologic architecture and regulation of ocular mucosal immune system explores impact infection autoimmune disease on this system's structure function. The defends surface against antigenic challenge. epithelia cornea, conjunctiva, lacrimal drainage system, tear film, glands, eyelids act as a functional unit to preserve quality refractive protect structures. principal tissues involved in protection are gland conjunctiva. gland, which serves predominant source S-IgA antibodies, is primary effector tissue eye's secretory defense. preocular film plays critical role defense microbial exposure, well maintenance corneal clarity visual ability. These functions extremely dependent upon stability, tonicity, composition structure. Other tissues, organisms, factors nonspecific eye include the: orbital skeletal structure—which minimizes potential trauma, eyelid architecture—which relatively impermeable macromolecules, blink reflex ciliary movement—which rapidly clears foreign objects from surface, continuous flow tearing—which acts remove microorganisms cellular debris through hydrokinetics eventual into nasolacrimal duct.
