摘要: The nosology of severe bullous erythema multiforme (EM), Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) remains controversial. To conduct a prospective case-control study the etiologic factors these diseases, we needed to define criteria for classifying cases. After having reviewed photographs skin lesions more than 200 patients, an international group dermatologists proposed classification based on pattern "EM-like lesions" (categorized as typical targets, raised or flat atypical purpuric macules) extent detachment. "consensus" in five categories was follows: multiforme, detachment below 10% body surface area (BSA) plus localized targets targets; SJS, BSA widespread erythematous macules overlap SJSTEN, between 30% TEN with spots, above wide-spread without large sheets any target. Whether all represent distinct etiopathologic entities will require further epidemiologic laboratory investigations.
