摘要: Depleting aquifers, lack of planning and low socioeconomic status Pakistani farmers have led them to use wastewater (WW) for irrigating their crops causing food contamination with heavy metals ultimately negative effects on human health. This study evaluates the chitosan (CH) biochar (BC) growth nutritional quality brinjal plant together in situ immobilization a soil polluted due irrigation (SPHIW) further irrigated same WW. Both CH BC were applied at three different rates i.e. rate [(LR), BC0.5%, CH0.5% BC0.25%+CH0.25%], medium [(MR), BC1%, CH1% BC0.5%+CH0.5%] high [(HR), BC1.5%, CH1.5% BC0.75%+CH0.75%]. Result revealed that growth, antioxidant enzymes, fruit significantly improved from LR HR each amendment, relative control. However, these results more prominent alone BC+CH, compared rate. Similarly, few exceptions, significant reduction Ni, Cd, Co, Cr Pb concentrations root, shoot found sole treatment both MR but BC+CH treatments HR, Interestingly, Fe roots, shoots pronounced rate, Overall, was most effective SPHIW WW, rest treatments. indicates BC0.75%+CH0.75% can be used reduce mobility bioavailability facilitates by improving system. feasibility should also tested field scale.
