Positive and negative contrast effects obtained following shifts in delayed water reward

摘要: In a two-shift experiment, four independent groups of thirsty rats were delayed 20 sec before receiving the following treatments: LLL, LSL, SSS, SLS, with each letter denoting magnitude water reward received in three phases experiment. Both significant positive contrast effect (PCE) and negative (NCE) obtained first shift. Weaker effects found second The present results support extend generality previous findings studies using shifts food superimposed delay as control for ceiling effects.
