摘要: Chlamydia pneumoniae is a human respiratory pathogen. Unlike the other two species, no species-specific antigen has been defined for C. pneumoniae. An immunoreactive clone containing 0.8-kb fragment was isolated from (AR-39) genomic library by using anti-C. rabbit immune serum. By Southern hybridization analysis of chromosomal digests different spp., shown to react specifically with Subcloning this into pGEX-1 lambda T expression vector resulted in 62-kDa fusion protein. This protein as well cleaved peptide were recognized serum, while glutathione S-transferase moiety not recognized. The used produce monospecific antiserum. antiserum 76-kDa all isolates tested, recognize inclusions tissue culture, and neutralize infectivity cell culture. No reactivity observed trachomatis or psittaci. To isolate entire coding sequence protein, partially overlapping fragments DNA, 3.2-kb HindIII 1.2-kb PvuII fragment, isolated, cloned, sequenced. significant similarity found any previously reported nucleotide amino acid species. epitope could play role pathogenesis may be useful diagnostic tool.
