摘要: Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is essential for the maintenance of serum calcium concentration within narrow, normal limits, a feat that achieved, in part, by its ability to regulate bone resorption. In addition this traditional catabolic role, osteoanabolic actions PTH are also well known. Clinically, effect best represented primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT), whereas seen when or biological amino-terminal fragment [PTH(1–34)] used as therapy osteoporosis. At cellular level, favors resorption, mostly affecting RANKL–OPG–RANK system and ultimately increasing both osteoclast recruitment activity. On increases formation, mediated, control sclerostin, regulator Wnt signaling pathway. This chapter focuses on bases which exerts these dual anabolic skeleton.
