摘要: In the conscious goat infusions of 0.4 M mannitol in 0.15 NaCl into lateral cerebral ventricle (40 or 100 min, 0.02 ml/min) caused slight, transient vasopressin release and temporary thirst, whereas pure, hypertonic (0.7 M) did not elicit thirst inhibited basic nonhydrated animal. contrast, equiosmolal (0.35 induced persistent pronounced elevation plasma concentration throughout infusion period. The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) osmolality was raised by same order magnitude (= 13%) after mannitol/NaCl infusions. CSF Na+ elevated greater than 10% at 5 min infusions, but it reduced approximately There no appreciable difference K+ results are discussed with regard to possible importance Na+-concentration as opposed strict osmotic factors for excitation receptors involved control water balance.
