摘要: Background. Among contact allergens that are frequently used in the treatment of alopecia areata (AA), squaric acid dibutylester (SADBE) stands out for its good tolerability and mild side effects. Methods. One hundred forty-four patients with AA varying degrees were treated SADBE. Of these, 71 had affecting less than 50% scalp, 73 a severe form, including 13 totalis (at) two universalis (AU). The using both traditional nontraditional methods. Results. In we obtained 80% rate regrowth, compared to 49% more form cases at au. failure was higher (29%) 7% only AA. We also observed four initial regrowth on scalp opposite site application (‘castling phenomenon‘). those who SADBE right back, three displayed left (i.e., side) an area distant from application; began one them growth fine hairs dorsal region, compound. Conclusions. Our data further support hypothesis systemic action SADBE; however, confirmation larger sample is needed.
