摘要: Abstract Surface water contamination with current-use pesticides (CUPs) is usually associated inputs from agriculture. However, there are several urban sources of these compounds, including used in public spaces, golf courses, and lawns gardens; discharges municipal wastewater containing fungicides pharmaceuticals personal care products (PPCPs); runoff biocides that construction materials. Polar organic chemical integrative samplers (POCIS) were to monitor the occurrence selected herbicides surface waters densely populated area near Toronto, Canada. Samplers deployed five streams, one agriculturally dominated stream, at locations nearshore zone western Lake Ontario adjacent areas. Sampling rates for target compounds POCIS determined laboratory calibration experiments ranged between 0.03 0.65 L/day. For herbicides, atrazine was detected all sites, diuron, 2,4-D, mecoprop frequently detected. The carbendazim thiophanate-methyl a hydroxy-metabolite fungicide chlorothalonil also widely Fungicides PPCPs (e.g. fluconazole, climbazole) primarily impacted by wastewater. Estimated time-weighted average (TWA) concentrations iprodione streams consistent number courses watershed. building materials may be source fungicides. Overall, data indicate environments, as indicated Toronto area, have point non-point other CUPs.
