摘要: Paying research subjects as an incentive to participation is a widespread practice within health and social research. Where are illegal drug users, this often felt raise particular ethical issues. This paper explores question of paying users take part in from the perspective three models: justice; human rights; business. Issues discussed include whether cash payments appropriate, payment amounts, incentives jeopardize informed consent they offer good value-for-money for funders. Some practical implications discussion set out four key components proposed. Finally, conclusion it argued that use drugs needs be more fully openly debated by researchers, funders other stakeholders.
