摘要: Silicone rubber high voltage insulators are sometimes reported to be colonised by microorganisms. When the hydrophobic polymeric surface is covered a hydrophilic biofilm, isolating properties of insulator reduced. However, cleaning can restore function insulator. In this study biofilms colonising from Tanzania, Sri Lanka and Sweden were investigated. Results showed that examined shared several properties. Small unicellular green algae associated with bacteria filamentous fungi dominated all samples. Environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) X-ray energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS) proposed as new method determine if an infected cleaned.
