摘要: Summary— The results of investigations in 50 impotent patients with neurological disease are presented. Using intracorporeal papaverine, Doppler duplex scanning, cardiovascular reflex testing and skin thermal threshold monitoring, the vascular components were assessed each three clinical groups probable or overt neuropathy. These comprised spinal injury, diabetes pelvic trauma. Anatomical detail penis was well seen using these techniques. In 15 injuries, although aetiology predominantly neurological, six exhibited poor flow deep penile arteries following injection papaverine. This associated erections patients, suggesting a pathology. In 27 showed mixed pattern. Vascular almost universal, combined varying degrees autonomic peripheral neuropathy, only had full papaverine. Those trauma (8 patients) also picture, some good papaverine injection. Duplex scanning correlated quality papaverineinduced erection. Thermal highly sensitive indicator small nerve fibre dysfunction, possibly at an earlier stage than standard testing. A component to impotence shown be common those impairment, may alter management.
