摘要: Water-distilled essential oil from the leaves of Artemisia diffusa Krasch. ex Poljakov, collected north east Iran, was investigated for phytochemical constituents and anticancer, cytotoxic, mutagenic antimutagenic activities. Camphor (28.30%), 1,8-cineole (21.03%) β-thujone (14.20%) were major components in this oil. The largest part leaf A. formed by oxygenated monoterpenes (75.58%). Cytotoxicity measured using a modified MTT assay against Hela lymphocyte cells. IC50 shows that cytotoxicity with respect to human tumor cell line (IC50 = 16.34 μg/mL) is much higher than healthy cells 4594.92 μg/mL). These results indicate low adverse side effects activities evaluated Ames Salmonella/microsome assay, Salmonella typhimurium tester strains TA98 TA100, without presence metabolic activation rat liver (S9). excellent anti-mutagenic effect seen 1.16 mg/plate both S. TA100 TA98, S9 fraction.
