摘要: The aim of this clinical study was to evaluate the level Interleukine-6 (IL-6), pre and post arthrocentesis validate it as a biomarker in Internal Derangement (ID) TMJ. This included 30 patients (20 females 10 males) Temporo-Mandibular Dysfunction (TMD) with Disc displacement without reduction (DDwoR) Wilkes stage III, who were refractory conservative management. Arthrocentesis performed therapeutic modality. Synovial fluid aspirates obtained prior 300 ml Ringer Lactate solution into superior joint compartment for assessment IL-6. parameters used correlating IL-6 degree pain (VAS I), chewing ability II), Maximal Mouth Opening (MMO) both op phase follow-up period 01 day, 01 week, 01 month, 03 month 06 month results compared. ELISA analyze levels aspirates. recorded analyzed statistically. showed ID TMJ (Wilkes III) s are more prevalent especially fourth decades life mean age 38.4 years. operative terms pain, maximum mouth opening, lateral movements mandible found be statistically significant P value <0.01. validates role definitive pathogenesis III proved minimally invasive modality its
