Contributions of Resilience to Mental Health in Chinese Secondary School Students at Different Disaster Stress Levels

摘要: A key feature of positive education is its focus on factors that can help students flourish. In the current study, we examined role resilience in promoting optimal mental health Chinese secondary school who suffered 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, China. earthquake central region, 518 participants recruited November about 6 months and 473 1 year after were assumed to have highest mid-level disaster stress levels, respectively. 602 from areas unaffected by December lowest level. Participants' assessed clinical scales Cross-cultural (Chinese) Personality Assessment Inventory for Adolescents Resilience Scale Adolescents, Higher level reported significantly lower higher problems. Negative correlations between problems confirmed across three groups. Only supportive power showed significant predictions two The implications counseling discussed.
