摘要: Objective- To determine the effects of growth hormone (GH) therapy on bone density in controlled conditions healthy adult rabbits. Design- Experimental vivo study. Animal- 20 healthy, New Zealand White Procedures- The rabbits were divided into 2 groups; receiving Human GH (0.006 mg/kg/d) and controls; placebo for 3 months. radius tibia was measured proximal epiphysis, mid-shaft, distal epiphysis while vertebral column fourth lumbar vertebra (L4) using aluminum step-wedge appropriate software. Measurements performed 5 stages, one before start 4 times after administration or placebo, with weeks interval. Results- mean level serum insulin-like factor I (IGF-I) increased significantly (p<0.05) test group (222 ± 51 vs. 270 64 ng/l). IGF-I did not change control group. Densitometric measures midshaft it have any significant variation (p<0.05). Conclusion Clinical Relevance- difference between long bones vertebrae terms responsiveness is similar to what reported human acromegaly. Decrease second stage some regions that followed by increasing next stages treatment patients deficiency (GHD). This study suggests might be a useful model assay acromegaly, GHD, adult.
