摘要: Earthquake Environmental Effects (EEEs) are a common occurrence following moderate to strong seismic events. EEEs described in literary sources even for earthquakes that occurred hundreds of years ago, but their potential hazard assessment is not fully exploited. Here we analyze five the Southern Apennines (Italy) between 1688 and 1980, assess if reliable indicators effects caused by past earthquakes. We investigate spatial distribution ability repeatedly occur at same place, quantitatively compare macroseismic fields expressed terms damage-based intensity (MCS: Mercalli–Cancani–Sieberg) Scale Intensity (ESI) field, derived from an attenuation relation. computed field “ESI-MCS”, showing results consistent when comparing different events ESI values higher first ca. 10 km epicenter, while distances greater than 20 MCS ESI. Our research demonstrates (i) offer detailed picture earthquake near (ii) reappraisal under modern perspective may provide improved input parameters useful assessment.
