摘要: Purpose To define the range and life cycles of cuticular drusen phenotypes using multimodal imaging to review histologic characteristics drusen. Design Retrospective, observational cohort study experimental laboratory study. Participants Two hundred forty eyes 120 clinic patients with a phenotype 4 human donor (n = 2), soft 1), hard 1). Methods We performed retrospective clinical data phenotype. Patients had undergone various combinations color photography, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green near-infrared reflectance, fundus autofluorescence, high-resolution OCT, ultrawide-field imaging. Human underwent processing for light electron microscopy. Main Outcome Measures Appearance in topography distribution; age-dependent variations phenotypes, including occurrence retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) abnormalities, choroidal neovascularization, acquired vitelliform lesions (AVLs), geographic atrophy (GA); ultrastructural staining druse subtypes. Results The mean age at first visit was 57.9±13.4 years. Drusen RPE changes were seen peripheral retina, anterior vortex veins, 21.8% eyes. Of more than 5 years follow-up, disappeared from view 58.3% eyes, coalescence 70.8% new pigmentary developed 56.2% Retinal AVLs, GA occurred frequency 47.5%, 24.2%, 12.5%, 25%, respectively, significantly common older 60 (all P Conclusions Although appear similar those drusen, their lifecycle macular complications are comparable Cuticular drusen may confer unique risk development neovascularization.
