摘要: A successful simulation of the western North Pacific summer monsoon needs a regional ocean–atmosphere coupled model (ROAM). How performance ROAM relies on oceanic component remains unknown. In this study, authors investigated effects different components (WNP) in ROAM. Three cases simulations were performed, viz. 1998 (El Nino decaying phase), 2004 developing and 1993 (the non-ENSO phase). Results show that for ENSO phases exhibit improvements location Meiyu rainband spatial distribution low-level flow over WNP, whereas systemic cold biases sea surface air temperature are further increased. The with similar performance, which is not phase dependent. For case 1998, slightly stronger subtropical high colder found (SST) biases. SST partly contributed by ocean dynamics processes because net flux favors warmer SST. This study suggests dependence WNP models much weaker than atmospheric models.
