Heat and charge transport in YNi2B2C and HoNi2B2C single crystals

摘要: For a systematic investigation of the heat- and charge-transport properties YNi2B2 Ca nd HoNi2B2C, single-crystal measurements electrical resistivity, thermal conductivity, thermoelectric power were performed on same samples. local maximum Lorenz number at 20 K is evidently connected with occurrence magnetic fluctuations well above ordering temperature. in-plane kink near superconducting transition was observed, consistent an anisotropic gap or multiband description. both investigated borocarbides, resistance isotropic. In contrast, conductivity shows pronounced anisotropy. The exhibits minor anisotropy can be described by electron-diffusion phonon-drag contributions over wide temperature range. Based analysis full-potential local-orbital calculations, strong influence boron z position has been revealed.
