摘要: Abstract Sustainable development of cities and communities under climate change calls for effective pragmatic strategies to mitigate urban heat island (UHI) during hot seasons. Meanwhile, the effectiveness UHI mitigation measures can be affected by public perceptions planning implementation processes. However, general have not received adequate attention in research. This study leverages results a carefully designed survey fill this research gap. The professional respondents are largely geographic areas they work partially how familiar with UHI-related building codes regulations. In addition, academic literature government reports two major sources most obtain information. We also identify four knowledge gaps: lack education on measures, communications between researchers code writers, implementing some countries, trustworthy information shared social media. Bridging these gaps key importance fostering engagement improving measures.
