Infectious complications in kidney transplant: a Lebanese perspective.

摘要: Objectives Infections remain a frequent, potentially life-threatening complication of kidney transplant. Subjects and methods Between 1998 2006, we evaluated the incidence infections in 114 transplant patients, with 1-year follow-up. All patients received posttransplant anti-infectious prophylaxis regimen. Induction therapy was given to 94 (82.4%), maintenance immunosuppression consisted calcineurin inhibitor (cyclosporin microemulsion or tacrolimus), together mycophenolate mofetil prednisone. Results In total, 56 (49.1%) developed total 95 up after transplant, including 46 in-hospital 38 patients. Bacterial were most frequent (97.8%), mainly urinary, followed by drain, central line catheter, pulmonary infections. The most-frequent isolated bacteria E. coli, Klebsiella, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas. No viral detected. Up 1 year discharge from hospital, 49 occurred 26 which 79.5% bacterial; urinary tract due addition 7 cases cytomegalovirus, herpes, 2 fungal Conclusions This is first Lebanese study that deals underscores importance close patient monitoring Comparison international data shows similar patterns.
