摘要: Abstract Vetiveryl acetate is a common ingredient of the perfume industry highly prized by perfumers for its crisp vetiver note and thus often used in high-end compositions. currently manufactured from oil means various industrial processes that result conversion main alcohols into their corresponding acetates. Despite being decades as ingredient, vetiveryl has barely been studied past, therefore chemical composition poorly documented. While under investigation regulation authorities, it was crucial to fill this gap knowledge. We report here first detailed different types acetates, covering analytical, regulatory, olfactory aspects. This study based upon an integrated analytical methodology involving full array gas chromatographic techniques spectroscopic/spectrometric methods. The principal objective identification ester constituents contained samples acetate, well linking with manufacture process. Among major esters detected all samples, 23 were either isolated capillary preparative-gas chromatography or synthesized order provide complete spectral characterization. quantification both commercial laboratory-made acetates carried out internal calibration using comprehensive two-dimensional-gas predicted relative response factors. generated set data permitted explore regulatory aspects properties associated substance. modulates initial scent essential suppressing notes brought fragrant alcohols. impact undesired odorant molecules such phenol derivatives geosmin lowered, odour-active ketones khusimone, ziza-6(13)-en-3-ones, two vetivones develop own odor characters acetate.
