摘要: Abstract Volcanic edifices are unstable accumulations of eruptive and intrusive products with complex internal structures. A documentation these structures facilitates the assessing various hazards associated volcanoes, e.g. flanks instabilities events. However, not easily assessed in field, as volcanoes regularly covered by rapidly eroded. In case recent active generally extrapolated from external morphology edifice, which can be documented using Digital Elevation Models (DEM) geodetic data. Interpretation such data greatly benefits analogue models, idealised representations reality used to test impact that processes may have on shape a volcanic edifice. This short review focuses contribution models our comprehension structure composite cones. The other morphologies (e.g. caldera) excluded this review, they distinct evolution already been thoroughly reviewed. reviewed were investigate regional faults, magma injections ductile substratum, among processes, surface many edifices. These also locate eruption sites.
