摘要: The organotin, trimethyltin (TMT), is a highly toxic compound. In this study, silver-stained rat brain sections were qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated for degeneration after systemic treatment with TMT. Degenerated neurons counted using image analysis methods available in the HALO software. Specific areas including cortex, inferior superior colliculus, thalamus analyzed. Our results indicate extensive widespread damage to administration of Qualitative suggest severe TMT-induced toxicity 3 7 days Trimethyltin was greatest hippocampus, olfactory area, cerebellum, pons, mammillary nucleus, hypoglossal thalamus, cerebellar Purkinje cells. Quantification showed that optic layer colliculus exhibited significantly more compared layers above below. greater dorsal area relative central area.
