摘要: We present the results of a detailed petrographic study fresh coherent samples Menominee kimberlite sampled at site 73, located in County, MI, USA. Our objective is to account for its unusual and complex paragenetic sequence. Several generations olivine, ilmenite, spinel-group minerals are described. Early olivine ilmenite xenocrystic were replaced or overgrown by primary minerals. Zoned microcrysts have core mantled first rim which rutile, geikielite, spinel s.s. (spinel sensu stricto) cocrystallized. The situ U–Pb dating microcryst rutile yielded 168.9 ± 4.4 Ma, was interpreted as age emplacement. groundmass consists s.s., magnesian ulvospinel–ulvospinel–magnetite (MUM) spinel, calcite, dolomite. An extremely low activity Si suggested crystallization instead phlogopite groundmass. presence djerfisherite indicates high activities Cl S during late stages melt crystallization. occurrence two distinct qandilite-rich MUM) clear evidence mingling magnesiocarbonatitic with dominant kimberlitic melt.
