摘要: Since the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) epidemic is partly a social phenomenon changes in behaviors that spread disease are as necessary development of vaccines and other therapies. To help design implementation evaluation programs to curb AIDS there need for greater understanding human transmit virus (HIV) infection well contexts which these occur. Toward this end US Committee on Research Behavioral Social Statistical Sciences was asked to: 1) describe what known about HIV with special attention quality information at hand kind additional needed; 2) identify critical populations indicate objectives tasks related them; 3) existing research findings behavioral sciences should be useful planning choosing among interventions designed control infection; 4) intended facilitate behavior ways evaluate their effectiveness; 5) new undertaken areas. The 7 chapters resultant report divided into 3 parts: Understanding Spread Infection; Intervening Limit Impediments Intervention. Also included 6 background papers. Among recommendations are: vigorous basic sexual behavior; availability condoms treatment sexually transmitted diseases through local public health authorities; drug upon request intravenous users; trials sterile needle programs; anonymous antibody testing appropriate counseling voluntary basis.
